Winter Squash + Pumpkin Seedlings

CA$5.00

There is nothing quite so satisfying as watching a plant grow for months before finally harvesting it.

Winter squashes are sweet and store well. Plant them once the chance of frost is gone, and then let them grow all summer. They are ready to harvest in the fall once the vines have died, the colour of the fruits has deepened and you can’t easily pierce the skin with a fingernail. They will sprawl throughout your garden.

1 plant per 4 inch pot.

Honeyboat - Delicata might be your new favourite squash! This is perhaps the sweetest squash in existence. We use them to replace sweet potatoes in recipes. We don’t bother to peel them as you can eat the skin. 1 - 1.5 lb squashes; 5-7 fruit per plant.

Jack Be Little Pumpkin - Most pumpkin plants will give you 1 or 2 pumpkins - but this one gives you 8! Miniature, old-fashioned pumpkins are 3" wide by 2" tall and bright orange. Fun for kids!

Sweet Reba Acorn Squash - A bush-habit acorn squash that produces 4-5 fruit per plant, 2-2.5lbs each, well suited for compact spaces. It is a sweet, disease resistant, productive, all-around-good variety.

Havana Butternut - a large, nutty, sweet, traditional butternut variety with a small seed cavity which means more to eat! 3-5 fruit per plant, about 3-4lbs each. Holds well in storage.

New England Pie Pumpkin - A classic pie pumpkin that can also play the role as decorative or jack-o-lantern. Something is very satisfying about a plump pumpkin ripening in the garden come fall.
